skills in VR (neither among trainers nor among policy makers/experts).
• In all countries, however, policy makers/experts seem to have more experience and
knowledge than trainers (e.g., through conferences, fairs, etc.).
• Besides the many (well-known and often stereotypical) advantages, it is perhaps more
interesting to pay attention to the critical voices; some warn against cheap hardware and
poorly developed software, because using them it quickly demotivates - and also makes
no sense.
• Above all, there is also a warning against headsets that are too heavy because they soon
cause pain, which must be avoided at all costs, especially with younger learners (<16).
• Generally, any kind of possible physical, mental or emotional impairments must be taken
into account when working with VR.
2.3 Experiences with VR in VET and WBL
For the specific question 3.4, to what extent VR can best be used in VET and WBL, we focused our
evaluation primarily on those Focus Group participants who already had experience with VR. Gen-
erally, the picture from question 3.3 was confirmed: the majority of the participants had no expe-
rience with VR at all, while others had already used concrete apps in the classroom, but only selec-
tively and without conceptual integration into a VR-supported learning concept.
Nevertheless, these experiences are of great importance. The participants from France were even
helpful enough to cite the following apps which they recommend for being used in classes:
