Sensor fusion
● Sensor fusion combines data from several tracking
algorithms and can yield better outputs than only one
technology.
● One of the variants of sensor fusion is to merge
inertial and optical tracking.
● These two techniques are often used together
because while inertial sensors are optimal for tracking
fast movements they also accumulate errors quickly,
and optical sensors offer absolute references to
compensate for inertial weaknesses.
